Hello AMS families!
Many, perhaps all of you, reliably get the daily email announcements from AMS. But sometimes people don’t get them or lose track of them. To make sure that the information is getting out here at the beginning of the year, we will re-post them here (and Facebook) for the next few days. Today was a big day announcement-wise, so here goes.

Locker Assignment
Lockers will start being assigned to students this Wednesday, September 2nd in the courtyard under the stairs. 8th graders will be assigned their lockers on Wednesday and Thursday at lunch or after school. 7th graders will be assigned their lockers on Friday and Tuesday, September 8th at lunch or after school.
Students must share a locker with one other student who is in the same grade. Students interested in being assigned a locker can either purchase a lock or bring their own. To purchase a lock, students must bring $6 exact change or a check payable to AUSD. If bringing their own lock, it must be a Master Lock V15. Students who do not have the appropriate lock will not be assigned a locker.
Lastly, to expedite the locker assignment process, students should bring either their printed schedule with their name on it or their name clearly written on a piece of paper.
Tryouts for Flag Football begin tomorrow and continue on Wednesday and Thursday at 5:00pm on the softball fields.
Volleyball Tryout Schedule:
- Tuesday, Sept. 1: 3:30-5:00
- Wednesday, Sept. 2: 2:30-4:00
- Thursday, Sept. 3: 3:30-5:00
** All tryouts will take place in the AMS gym!
Garden Club
Hey gardeners, Garden Club will start the Tuesday after Labor Day. See you then. If you want to be an officer, come with your election speech.
Science Olympiad
Correction for Science Olympiad: The first meeting is postponed until the first week in October. There is no meeting this week or next.
Lunchtime Reminders
Students, please do not be in the school building at lunch (except the library). You can access the bathrooms from the courtyard. Hallways are completely off limits.
Starting on Wednesday, we will be allowing cards to be played in the Atrium at the tables.
6th graders, please remember that you can enter the halls in the morning after hearing the bell and go right to your lines. Same thing after lunch. Thank you for lining up!
7/8th Graders, please remember to not go through the 6th grade hallway. Please go around.
Please do not lock your bikes to the gates, because then we cannot lock the bike rack. Thank you!
