DGSA

Are you interested in a club that helps to welcome new students to AMS? A club that celebrates diverse cultural events? A club that serves as an ally to gay and questioning teens? The Diversity Gay Straight Alliance is having its first meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Band Room, during 7th and 8th grade Advisory, 11:40 to noon. We welcome last year’s members and any sixth graders willing to give up their Wednesday lunch. Please see Ms. Uyeda today in Room 204 if you’re a 7th or 8th grader interested in joining.

Bikes

The Albany Police Department has requested that student and staff bikes not be locked to the metal posts between Spokane Ave and Behrens Ave. If bikes continue to be locked there, they will remove the bike.  We are working to expand the bike cage.

Wrestling

There will be sign ups for APAL Wrestling for any interested boy or girl on Thursday September 10, during lunch at 12:45 in the AMS gym. Any questions see Mr. Rose.

Choir Students

Please walk all of the way down Key Route and turn left onto the middle school side of Brighton, so you are only crossing once.  Thanks!

Noontime Sports

There will be Volleyball Open Gym this week for 7th and 8th grade students (12:55-1:15).  Please make sure to eat your lunch first then come to the gym.  No experience necessary.  Come and join the fun!

6th grade:  Sign-ups for Noontime Volleyball begin this week with your Core Teacher.

Locker Assignment

Lockers will continue to be assigned to students today in the courtyard under the stairs for 7th graders at lunch or after school.

Students must share a locker with one other student who is in the same grade. Students interested in being assigned a locker can either purchase a lock or bring their own. To purchase a lock, students must bring $6 exact change or a check payable to AUSD. If bringing their own lock, it must be a Master Lock V15. Students who do not have the appropriate lock will not be assigned a locker.

Lastly, to expedite the locker assignment process, students should bring either their printed schedule with their name on it or their name clearly written on a piece of paper.

Student Council Meeting

The first student council meeting will be tomorrow,  September 9th at 7:30 am in the AMS library. All advisory representatives should plan on attending.

Garden Club

Hey gardeners, Garden Club will meet today after school in the garden. See you then. If you want to be an officer, come with your election speech.
