AUSD Seeks Parent Input on Advisory Committee

WHAT:
Albany USD is establishing a Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Advisory Committee comprised of parents, students, staff, and community members.

WHY:

  • Albany USD is required to develop a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) which
identifies goals and measures progress for a variety of priorities, including academic performance
    for all students.
  • Albany USD needs to be prudent in aligning goals and actions with financial resources.
  • Albany USD Strategic Plan #3, ‘Communicating and Leading Together,’ is a high priority.

HOW:
This committee will plan for gathering and soliciting feedback from our current site and
communitywide groups. The committee will then process this feedback and use the information to
recommend a final draft LCAP to the Board of Education for approval.

MEMBERSHIP:
The following membership represents a variety of stakeholders and also meets the CA
State requirement that a majority of the LCAP Advisory Committee be made up of Parents. We need
parents who will specifically represent the needs of English Learners, Low Socioeconomic Youth, and
Foster Youth.

  • Parents (8 total: TK/Elementary 3, AMS 2, AHS/MAC 3)
  • Staff (7 total: Teachers2, Classified1, Administrators4)

DATES:
Four meetings between January and May to be determined.

Dates and times of the meetings will be scheduled by the group at the first meeting on January 13, 2015
at 5:30 p.m. at the Albany Unified School District Office, 1051 Monroe Street.
